2003: A Nostalgic Musical Evening
In 2002, Swar Aalap took the initiative to create Dastak, a nostalgic Musical evening to felicitate musicians & appreciate their contribution to Bollywood music. Swar Aalap Founder, Dinesh Ghate ‘Jain’ took the initiative of forming Dastak, a magazine that would feature all legendary musicians of the Indian Film Music industry and he also got two legendary musicians of the Indian Hindi Film music industry for the first time together on one stage to appreciate and acknowledge their contribution to music. The event was titled Dastak Ki Lehrein held on 15th January 2003 at Fine Art Chembur, Mumbai.
It was an evening filled with great music from the ’50s to ’80s where these two legendary musicians were felicitated for their invaluable contribution to Indian Film Music.
They were none other than Cawas Lord (Multi-Instrumentalist) and Tony Vaz (Bass Guitarist). Having them at Dastak – A Nostalgic Musical Evening in 2003 was one of the greatest moments in history.
Cawas Lord and Tony Vaz were felicitated by Manohari Singh and Playback Singer Sudesh Bhosale for their exceptional work in music. Remembering that evening brings joy to each one of us and today we share that same joy with you.
