Main Munna HoonManish Shrivastava
My journey embarked as a philanthropist of Hindi Language, which is also my mother tongue, had initiated in my college days as a playwright but came to a standstill when the burden of livelihood overpowered the adoration and pursuit of writing. My profession ranged-rover me to different parts of India starting from Bundelkhand, which is also my native place, to Western UP, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka. The passage and the extensive experience took me to South East Asia and presently settled to Jakarta, Indonesia.
But the aspiration to accomplish my dream in writing and exploring ideas to serve an enriched platform for Hindi readers made me pen down my first Hindi novel “Roohi-Ek Paheli” and its scrupulous acceptance among the masses made my confidence in writing more prominent and hence” Main Munna Hoon” was conceived on papers. I do write occasionally for platforms like Swarajyamag, Mandli and OpIndia.
“Main Munna Hoon” is a retrospection of a Child’s journey starting from being a victim of sexual abuse to a well-acquainted dilemmatic life tyranny. How a child’s honor is rub to pieces by the hands of own immediate family, from uncles to Didi’s, how a childhood is pulverized on the namesake of family and neighbors. The inchoate mind of a child sobs to none but somehow accrue all the inner resolution to fight back the devils.
The book also reflects how Munna’s credulity and mightiness (of childhood) is guarded by gigantic forces of the universe and cannot be demeaned by devils. This force beholds Munna’s hand in all of his life’s tyranny from friendship to relationships, from soberness to dalliance. Munna’s interaction with relationships deceives him from all corners of life. But there was always some grace and light in him that entices Munna to display rectitude in every relation, forgiving any kind of retribution and finding inner solace.
